The development with an ‘uber-cool twist’ in Bristol’s ‘hippest neighbourhood’

A housing development consisting of nine separate units with private parking and a gated entrance is currently under construction in Redfield.

The development on Whitehall Road will see the construction of five ‘town houses’ with four bedrooms each and four slightly smaller two-three bedroom mews and coach houses.

The five town houses at Charterhouse Yard are currently listed for sale on Rightmove for £485,000.

The remaining four houses are priced between £435,000 and £375,000 but the majority of them have already been reserved.

Joshua Carter from Broadwalk Property company, responsible for sales and marketing, said: "I expect them [the larger town houses] to go under offer before they are completed."

In their brochure, the Clevedon-based developers Hawkfield Homes, who say the development has an 'uber cool twist', write: "This is your opportunity to be in Whitehall before the secret gets out."

The brochure names St George Park, Whitehall Primary school, The Kings Head pub, The Bristol Loaf bakery, Redfest and St Mark's Road as selling points for the area.

"Like east London before it, east Bristol is fast becoming one of Bristol’s hippest neighbourhoods," they tell interested buyers.

"Located in Whitehall, BS5, Charterhouse Yard is within easy reach of some of the most exciting and vibrant parts of Bristol.

“Just opposite Charterhouse Yard is The Kings Head, known for its authentic Caribbean dishes and monthly live bands.

“The development is also perfectly positioned between two of east Bristol’s coolest areas.

“Easton is renowned for its multicultural cuisine and festivals – St Mark’s Road was named Britain’s best street in 2019 – and its community-minded pubs.

“Whitehall Primary School, one of Bristol’s highest rated and most highly sought after schools, is also right on your doorstep.

“From entertaining in your own private terrace, meeting up with friends in one of the locals, to relaxing in St George Park, a home in Charterhouse Yard puts you right in the heart of everything and yet away from it all.”

Hawkfield Homes do not require to include any affordable housing in the development because the rule only applies to properties with 10 units or more.
