The desperate search for a man last seen one year ago today

Police have issued a fresh appeal for help to find a man who went missing from Warrington exactly one year ago today.

James Miller was last seen on Slater Street, in Latchford, at 11pm on Tuesday, December 22 last year, Cheshire Live reports.

Officers have been investigating his disappearance ever since and desperate appeals have been issued by his family.

But the 38-year-old has still not been found.

Officers from Cheshire Constabulary have continued to support James' family through the 'long and difficult' year.

They have looked into numerous sightings reported, but none have proved conclusive.

Detective Inspector Helen Clegg, of Warrington Local Policing Unit, said: “Today marks one year since James was last seen and reported missing.

“The past 12 months have been a long and difficult time for his family and friends and my thoughts are with them today and continue to be as each day passes.

“Despite the number of enquiries we have received since James went missing his whereabouts has still not been established.

“However the investigation is still open and officers continue to act on reports which could lead to James being found.

“As we reflect on this day I would ask the public to cast their minds back and to get in touch if they have information that has not yet been disclosed to us.

"We are still appealing for new information that is relevant to James’s disappearance so please do get in touch – no matter how small you think it may be.

“I also want to repeat my thanks to the members of the public who have continued to do all they can to raise awareness of James’s disappearance and provide support and hope to his family.”

At the time he went missing, James was wearing a white t-shirt and grey jogging bottoms. He is described as 5'8" tall with bright blue eyes, of a medium build and with a distinctive scar on the side of his head.

Six months ago, James' sister Emma said the family 'miss him' and 'hope that he is safe', describing the period since his disappearance as 'such a difficult time'.

If anyone has any information about James' whereabouts, contact Cheshire Constabulary on 101 quoting IML 880492.
