Edu has already had an impact in bringing players to Arsenal since re-joining the club in the role as technical director. Since his appointment was made official earlier in the month, the Gunners have bought in two new faces, William Saliba and Dani Ceballos, they are also on the verge of completing the club record signing of Lille winger Nicolas Pepe.
Now, it seems that he has had an influence in bringing another player to the Emirates Stadium - his 15-year-old son Luigi Gaspar.
Gaspar previously played in the youth teams at Brazilian club Corinthians, having been at the club since the age of eight, but the player confirmed via his Instagram account that he was leaving, at it is reported by Meu Timao that he has joined Arsenal.
Although his Instagram is locked, the youngster's location is now down as London, and the Brazilian website has transcribed the message sent by the teenager upon his departure from the Brazilian side.
"I was a very happy person in this club, where titles, achievements and some difficulties that made me evolve and become I am today," he wrote.
"My hear is black and white!!! Thanks again for everything Corinthians. I will be forever grateful to all of you."
Among the comments was one from his father.
"That's how I told you son, you've grown and matured. Now it's time to face another challenge head on! Remember there were a few and you got over it. It comes with everything your father is waiting for you missing you..."
Gaspar will be hoping to follow in his father's footsteps at Arsenal. Edu scored 15 goals in 127 appearances in a Gunners shirt and was part of the invincibles squad of the 2003/04 season.
