How to complete The De Vil Crash in Disney Dreamlight Valley
To finish The De Vil Crash quest, you need to find Cruella's missing journal fragments, repair the Rope and Pulley system, and help Cruella retrieve her car. There's quite a lot to get done in this one, so here's a full breakdown of all the steps you need to complete.
Dress up according to Cruella's standards
Apparently, your fashion sense isn't good enough for Cruella, so before she'll allow you to help her, you need to dress up to her standards. She gives you the Chic Equestrian Uniform to fix this issue, so equip it from the Wardrobe page to progress. Once you have it on, chat with Cruella about what to do next.
Find each fragment of Cruella's journal
Next up, Cruella needs you to find each missing fragment of her journal. There are three pieces to find, all of which are lost around the Glamour Gulch biome. You can find them:
- Near the Quarry entrance on the beach – Found near the northwest corner of Glamour Gulch, close to the coast and the wooden ramp that leads down into the Quarry.
- At the bottom of the Quarry – Near the east end of the Quarry, close to the wall.
- Near a waterfall on the eastern edge of Glamour Gulch at the foot of the fortress – Near the very north end of Runway River, on the ground right in front of the waterfall.
Once you have all three journal fragments, meet Cruella down in the Quarry, close to her crashed car, to hand them over. She's finally ready to get back to fixing up her car, which means you're one step closer to the answers you need.
Find the resources needed for a Rope and Pulley Repair Kit
To help Cruella retrieve her car, you need to make a Rope and Pulley Repair Kit. Before you can craft it, there are quite a few resources you need to gather, including:
- 10 Pearly Barley – Must be planted, watered, grown, and harvested. You can buy the Pearly Barley seeds you need from Goofy's Caravan, which is a train that constantly wanders around Wishblossom Ranch and is marked on the map.
- 10 Beady Soil – Can be dug up using your Royal Shovel anywhere around Runway River, Paisley Park, Modish Marsh, and Haute Plateau.
- Three Wire Coat Hangers – Can be found when fishing outside of ripple spots with your Royal Fishing Rod around Glamour Gulch, which includes the Runway River, Paisley Park, Modish Marsh, and Haute Plateau areas.
- Two Measuring-Coat Snail – Can be fished out of white ripple spots in Flamour Gulch, including water found throughout Runway River, Paisley Park, Modish Marsh, and Haute Plateau.
Once you have all of the items you need, head to a crafting station. Switch over to the Functional Items tab to select the Rope and Pulley Repair Kit option.
Repair the Rope and Pulley with the Rope and Pulley Repair Kit
With the Rope and Pulley Repair Kit now made, walk over to the north end of the Quarry. Interact with the Rope and Pulley system there to use the kit, then trot over to Cruella near her crashed car to talk about the next steps.
Put the Mod Saddle on your horse
Select one of your own custom horses and equip the special Mod Saddle Cruella made for them. You can do this by opening your Inventory, navigating to the Mounts tab, choosing the Customize option, selecting the Saddles section, and equipping the Mod Saddle. You must use a custom horse, not Maximus, for this step.
Once your horse is ready to go, talk to Cruella again, watch a short cutscene, then chat with her one last time to officially complete The De Vil Crash quest. Next up is The Skunk Rebellion quest, which gets you one step closer to finally getting the next Crystal Key you need.
