The data that shows just how confident punters are on Leeds United winning promotion

Punters across the country are backing Leeds United to return to the Premier League this season.

Marcelo Bielsa's side currently sit fifth in the table, just two points behind current table-toppers West Brom.

But United are being backed to be this season's big winners with a return to the Premier League as champions, according to bets placed so far this season.

The bookies have Leeds priced as 13/8 favourites to win the division, and a staggering 39 percent of all bets placed this season have been for the Whites.

That puts Leeds at the top of the popularity charts by some distance, in front of Fulham and Albion respectively.

While at the other end of the table, Wigan are rock bottom in terms of bets placed, slightly below Barnsley and Hull.

The Whites, who have been out of England's top-flight since their relegation in 2004, were beaten by Derby County in the play-off semi-finals last season.
