Suspenseful and peculiar, simultaneously apprehensive and gripping, Torday's vision of nature and adventure will charm those who have a soft spot for sympathetic scenarios. From the vivid style to the inventive storyline, the audience goes through mixed emotions including, empathy towards Kester and the animals and hatred towards Selwyn Stone. The moral woven into the book is that if we do not respect wildlife, then wildlife will not respect us and this is described using an imaginative dystopian background.
Despite the fact that we attribute talking animals to books for children, the book was so immaculately written that I did not even realize that the animals were able to talk.
Kester has to stop the animals from creating mischievous and cunning plans against humans; he has to turn revenge and enemies into love… Will he be able to chase his dreams and never give up?
