The incidents have been reported in Lagos de Moreno, a municipality in Jalisco, where photos began circulating online showing men restrained with tape in public areas. Some had their mouths taped, showed signs of beating, and warning signs were placed nearby.

Local press reports said the mysterious figure, frustrated with inadequate law enforcement, began targeting motorcycle thieves. Residents quickly gave him the nickname "Lagos de Moreno's Batman."
