The Daniel James home video that will make Swansea City and Wales fans love him even more

Daniel James is the toast of Welsh football at the moment.

Having already emerged as one of the brightest stars of Graham Potter's Swansea City side this season, he announced his arrival onto the international stage in some style at the weekend.

Making his first start in the red of Wales, the 21-year old netted what proved to be the winning goal in their Euro 2020 qualifying opener with Slovakia - after just four minutes.

That goal punctuated what was a hugely impressive overall performance from the winger, who's now likely to be a man in demand at the end of the season.

Having already come close to joining Leeds United in the January window, this is the sort of performance that will have put clubs higher up the footballing food chain on high alert , and will have left many Swans fans fearing a summer exit.

Of course, James is still in the middle of negotiations with Swansea over a new deal, and it doesn't look like the fuss being made over his recent performances have inflated his ego.

A video apparently taken from his girlfriend's Instagram has emerged on social media, showing James watching his goals for Wales and Swansea on a local news report, recording it all on his own phone.

One Swansea fan reacted by declaring: "DJ rewatching these goals makes me happy," while another said: "May we all have the innocence of Dan James. So pure. So unspoiled by the world."

It's not the first time James has delighted fans with his behaviour off the pitch.

Back in November, his girlfriend captured the heartwarming moment the Beverley-born star received a puppy named Hugo ahead of his 21st birthday, a moment that even raised a smile from team-mate Oli McBurnie.

It seems the ongoing speculation over his future hasn't affected that humility.
