Sunday was a day to forget for Tottenham as they slipped to a shock 1-0 defeat at home to Newcastle United.
Mauricio Pochettino's side had all the ball after Joelinton's opener but they just couldn't find a way past the visitors.
It wasn't as if the team peppered Martin Dubravka's goal with shot after shot either as his only real save of note was an effort from Son Heung-min in the first half.
The result means that the team now trail leaders Liverpool by five points and they could potentially be even further behind come Sunday evening as they face north London rivals Arsenal at the Emirates.
Spurs did struggle in the league at the back end of last campaign and their run to the Champions League final really did paper over the cracks.
Looking set to be there or thereabouts with Man City and Liverpool in the title race as we approached February, defeat at Burnley started a dreadful run of results that saw the team only clinch their place in the top four on the final day of the season.
It's really not pleasant reading at all when you look at the team's last 15 results in the Premier League.
Tottenham have only won four of those games, with three draws and eight defeats in the process.
That's certainly not the form of a team looking to challenge for the title nor one in mid-table, it's the form of a team nervously looking over their shoulder in the fight to stay up.

Add Spurs' Champions League games from the end of last season to the equation and Pochettino's side have only won eight of their last 22 matches.
Arsenal are next up for the Lilywhites and a good result at the Emirates is needed to see the team get back on an upward curve and stop the rot.
It could be a very long season for Pochettino and his team if the current form continues.
