Fans of the Daily Show have been given their first look at Trevor Noah’s revamped version of the show, which starts on 28 September.
In the teaser trailer, Noah strides on to a set with a slightly new look, accompanied by Kanye West’s Power (which samples King Crimson’s 20th Century Schizoid Man), and, well, does little more than sitting down.
We learn that there’s a new logo (it features capital letters in a larger font, for those who are interested) and that Noah will wear a suit; other than that, fans will have to wait for details on the show.
Stewart hosted his final show on 6 August and invited nearly all of the show’s guest contributors (including Noah) back, as well as Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band, who played Stewart out.
Noah was criticised days after being given the Daily Show job after old jokes aimed at women and Jews surfaced on Twitter.
There were calls from some that he be fired, but the comic will take over from Stewart in late September, a few weeks after Stephen Colbert begins his new show on CBS.
