The Daily Show's Trevor Noah criticises Trump for taking unproven coronavirus drug Hydroxychloroquine

Trevor Noah took aim at Donald Trump on The Daily Showon Tuesday (19 May), after the president said he had taken anunproven coronavirus drug.

“Trump has been experimenting with hydroxychloroquine" began Noah. "The same drug that the FDA said, ‘No one should be taking it for coronavirus outside of the hospital,' that drug? Look, man. Don’t try it. He’s trying it."

Speaking about Trump's decision to take the potent malaria drug, Noah continued: “I feel so bad for this guy’s secret service because they have more on their plate with Trump than ever before.

“At this point, what unhealthy thing isn’t the president doing? He eats fast food, he takes hydroxychloroquine and yet he is still alive.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if one day we find an ancient cave painting and right in the middle of it, there’s Trump.”

Mocking the president’s accent, Noah continued: “Fake news, I never touched that dinosaur."

Attempting to follow Trump's logic for taking the drug, Noah suggested: “Maybe he’s just distracting people?”

From “the inspector general story”, suggested Noah. “Or from all the coronavirus deaths.”

“Trump is either taking a dangerous, ineffective drug, or he’s lying about doing it just for the lulls. Either way, people are worried.”

“He has basically turned the presidency into an episode of Jack*ss. They gotta throw that [content] warning up before every press conference.”
