The curtain falls on France's cultural sector for a second time

There was frustration and incomprehension among many working in cinemas, theatres and concert venues in France, following the announcement of a second national lockdown from the government. As museums also prepare to close their doors, we take a last look at an exhibition at the Quai Branly museum which shifts its perspective to contemporary artists from around the world.

Meanwhile, the Pompidou Centre had been paying tribute to French artist Henri Matisse with an exhibition marking 150 years since his birth. Entitled "Matisse: Like a novel", the show examines the artist's vocabulary and style, and the museum had hoped it would draw visitors back to the site after a difficult summer.

And street art phenomenon "Invader" is the toast of Marseille, where his mysterious little mosaics feature all over the city, in a safe and pandemic-friendly display of outdoor art.
