As coronavirus levels in Wales have fallen and restrictions on everyday life have eased, the rules on visiting patients in Welsh hospitals have also changed.
Health boards across Wales have updated their guidance on hospital visitation as well as attending appointments.
The changes will have a huge impact on pregnant women, many of whom have been without their partners through early stages of labour and have had to attend dating scans alone.
These are the policies for visitation and attending appointments in each health board area of Wales:
Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board
Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB have now entered its "Amber Zone" policy on visiting, which includes major changes to their maternity services from April 24.
Under the amber visiting regulations, partners can attend 12 and 20 week ultrasound scans.
Routine midwifery appointment at 16 weeks will now be carried out face-to-face rather than over the phone which has been their practice throughout the pandemic.
Changes have also been made to allow a woman's designated birth partner to assist them earlier on in labour, while previously they were only allowed to attend during active labour.
Now, a birth partner may attend the onset of labour assessment, where a single room is available as well as procedures on the labour ward if in a single room.
After the baby's birth, the birth partner will be allowed to remain in the hospital if the care is being given in a single room in a birthing area. Previously, birth partners had to leave following the birth.
When on the maternity ward, if a woman is required to stay, a birth partner can visit during one hour slots for each bay on the ward to provide emotional support and parental bonding, while wearing PPE.
Partners will need to have their temperatures checked to attend and will be asked to stay in the single room/bay for the duration of their stay.
Swansea Bay UHB
The health board released a statement on April 15 which said it was carrying out a review of visiting restrictions across its hospitals.
For now, Covid restrictions remain in place across all its sites.
This means that for pregnant women their partner cannot be with them until they are in active labour and for the period immediately after birth.
However at this time there is no visiting on the antenatal or postnatal ward.
Pregnant women in the health board area can be accompanied by their partner to their 12 and 20 week scan as well as any foetal medicine clinics (where an issue has been found).
All other hospital antenatal out-patient appointments will be unaccompanied.
Cardiff and Vale University Health Board
Cardiff and Vale UHB has also reintroduced some restricted visiting for its maternity services this month, but warns these can be suspended if an outbreak occurs.
Partners are allowed to attend both 12 and 20 week scans as well as any anomaly scans.
All women who attend the area's hospitals for a labour assessment will have the option of being accompanied by one birthing partner.
One birthing partner may be present during the duration of active labour and the immediate postnatal period.
Women on First Floor Maternity, whether antenatal, postnatal or transitional care will have the opportunity of daily visiting during a specified time period. Whether in a side room or a bay, visiting will be for a maximum of one two-hour period per day by one named birth partner (the same birth partner who was present during labour and birth if postnatal).
Visitors must wear PPE and follow social distancing. No flowers, helium balloons or similar items are allowed.
Aneurin Bevan University Health Board
Since April 13, the health board that covers Newport, Blaenau Gwent, Monmouthshire, Caerphilly and Torfaen has allowed birth partners to visit its antenatal and postnatal wards between a 12 hour window of 8am and 8pm.
Partners are allowed in birthing areas only for established labour and caesarean section.
Women are currently allowed to have a partner at both their 12 and 20 week scan as well as any scans where the are concerns for the mother's or baby's health.
Powys Teaching Health Board
While there is no specific guidance from the health board due to the rural nature of its services with many women giving birth in English hospitals or neighbouring health boards, the health board states it "recognises the benefits of partners being present during labour and birth and for appointments such as ultrasound scans."
It says its decision on visiting maternity services will be based on Welsh Government guidance on hospital visiting during the Covid outbreak, which encourages hospitals to take into consideration local and national case rates.
However in labour and birth settings this states that a partner is allowed in active labour when the risk setting is very high.
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board
One partner can attend 12 and 20 week scans with a pregnant woman as well as any early pregnancy assessments.
One birthing partner is permitted while a woman is in active labour.
Both parents are allowed to visit a baby receiving neonatal care but are only allowed to attend one at a time to assist with social distancing.
Hywel Dda UHB
As of April 13, the health board has been moving into the next phase of updating its visiting policy.
A partner or nominated other is allowed to attend both 12 and 20 week scans.
A birth partner is allowed for active labour.
The changes to the remainder of its maternity visiting policies have not yet been updated or announced.
