Crystal Palace have contacted AC Milan with a view to signing Fabio Borini in the January transfer window.
That's according to the Evening Standard.
The report also states that Eagles manager Roy Hodgson is keen to bring in a new striker in the new year after being frustrated at the club's business during the summer window.
It's likely that Borini would be available at a cut-price fee as his contract at the San Siro expires at the end of the season and having not featured since August it seems the Rossoneri won't stand in his way.
But would Borini's arrival at Selhurst Park affect Wilfried Zaha ?
The Ivory Coast international was heavily linked with an exit in the summer amid talk of a big-money transfer to Arsenal.
Palace rejected an opening offer of £40m from the Gunners for the winger, while Everton were also said to be interested but in the end Zaha stayed in south London.
However, the latest rumour is that Chelsea want to sign Zaha.
The Independent stated this week that the Blues were readying a £50m swoop to bring Zaha to Stamford Bridge once their transfer ban was lifted.
It was announced on Friday morning that the west London outfit are able to sign players in January, and it's possible they could push ahead with plans to land the winger.
According to the report, Chelsea’s director of football Marina Granovskaia has made contact with football agent Federico Pastorello, who the Blues hope can help get a deal over the line.
Chelsea and Frank Lampard will certainly hope this is the case as the 27-year-old would freshen up the playing squad.
With that said, Hodgson has warned he is ready to fight to keep hold of Zaha.
"We can't say to Wilf, 'You've got to stay with us because we'll be Champions League next year'," Hodgson told reporters.
"I'm happy that [a summer transfer] didn't materialise, I think he's done exceptionally well to get over that and accept it and make certain he's once again doing his level best for this club."
