Nottingham Forest boss Chris Hughton faces a midfield dilemma as his side look to get back to winning ways this Saturday.
After successive defeats against Middlesbrough and Swansea City - the latter in the FA Cup - the Reds host Barnsley this weekend.
But they have been hit hard by injuries in the centre of the pitch.
It is likely to mean a debut for new signing Filip Krovinovic, who joined on loan from Benfica last week and was ineligible to feature against the Swans.
Although he can play in a more advanced role, with Forest limited on options it is likely Krovinovic will take on a defensive midfield post in his first runout.
Ryan Yates is expected to be sidelined for about three weeks with a calf problem, while Harry Arter and Jack Colback also remain out of action.
Hughton drafted in centre-back Loic Mbe Soh into midfield at the Liberty Stadium, but, after being rested, Samba Sow would be the more likely partner for Krovinovic this time around.
Yuri Ribeiro will be suspended for the clash with the Tykes, following his red card against Boro.
Gaetan Bong got a rare runout at left-back in the cup and will probably be first-choice to replace the Portuguese, but Carl Jenkinson is also able to play in that position, as is Tyler Blackett.
Further up the pitch, Anthony Knockaert pressed his claims for a starting spot with his goal at Swansea - also looking the most likely to create something for the visitors on a dismal afternoon.
Luke Freeman played for the first time since November when he was included in the first XI in south Wales, but it seems unlikely he would make a second successive start.
With Forest understood to be chasing Brighton and Hove Albion striker Glenn Murray, it could be they manage to strengthen further before Saturday.
But regardless, Hughton’s team will need to put in a better performance than in their last two outings, if they are to get anything against a Barnsley side against whom they don’t have the best of recent records.
Predicted Forest XI: Samba, Christie, Worrall, McKenna, Bong, Sow, Krovinovic, Ameobi, Cafu, Knockaert, Grabban.
