The crucial Arsenal turnaround Kieran Tierney is desperate to repeat with Scotland

Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney wants to bring his English success to the Scotland set-up.

Tierney starred during an FA Cup run in which the Gunners downed Manchester City and Chelsea in the Wembley semi-final and final.

He watched from the sidelines with a dislocated shoulder as new boss Mikel Arteta arrived at the Emirates Stadium and revolutionised the club before getting involved himself after football's imposed lockdown.

Now Tierney and fellow Scotland left-back Andy Robertson between them hold the two biggest trophies in England.

And the former Celtic man hopes that success can carry over into Steve Clarke's camp as Scotland face Israel on Friday night.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “Winning mentality is a lot in football. And the manager wanted to bring that to Arsenal.

“They went through a spell where the manager wasn’t happy, the fans weren’t happy and the players weren’t happy because they weren’t achieving what they wanted to achieve.

“I think him coming in and knowing what the club was about, and knowing that the club needs success, it needs trophies, it needs to be high up in the league as well is brilliant.

“And, for me, learning there and hopefully bringing a bit of that to here is hopefully going to benefit everyone.”
