The Crown sparks Gogglebox rant about Prince Charles as Pete tells him to "shove it"

Gogglebox star Pete Sandiford launching a scathing rant about Prince Charles while watching the latst series of The Crown.

Season 4 of the hit Netflix drama is one of if not THE most talked about show on TV right now so it was no surprise that it was on the agenda as the Channel 4 show returned on Friday night.

The new episodes, set in the 80s, concern themselves with The Queen's relationship with Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, the troubles of Princess Margaret and the whirlwind romance of Prince Charles and Diana and how it quickly went sour after their wedding.

And Gogglebox stars weren't too kind about Prince Charles and his 'other woman' Camilla, who is now of course his wife, after watching the episode of The Crown where Charles sets up a dinner between his two love interests.

What Gogglebox cast members do for a living

Charles said in the clip: “I’ve asked Mrs Parker Bowles to get in touch with you.”

“Your ex? Why would you do that?” Diana responded, to which, Josh O'Connor, in the role of the Prince, assured “Because she’s great fun.

“I thought you wanted company, she’s the best company."

Brother and sister duo Pete and Sophie can always be relied on for a savage dig and, reacting to the episode, Pete said: "Do you know what?

“I almost wished Prince Charles happy birthday the other day as well on Twitter," to which Sophie replied “I bet you’re glad you didn’t now!”

Pete then exclaimed: "I am now! He can shove it up his a**e!”

Another Gogglebox star questioned why, after becoming increasingly suspicious about Charles and Camilla, Diana even got married to him, to which another joked: "‘She was to far involved, the Tea Towels had been made and everything!"
