The crazy Conor McGregor stories of 2022 from 'sex act video' to photo with one of 'Dubai two'

Conor McGregor didn't step inside the cage this year, however despite his lack of sporting success in 2022, he still managed to make headlines.

From online feuds to controversial videos, McGregor never went long without causing a stir. The 34-year-old maintained a strong social media presence and got plenty of attention for his antics.

Here's some of McGregor's most memorable moments in 2022.

Video of 'sex act' on yacht

During the summer Conor McGregor left fans shocked after posting a video where it appeared he was receiving oral sex.

The MMA fighter was on holidays with fiancee Dee Devlin back in August and the couple were on board a yacht in Europe. The Crumlin man uploaded a now deleted video to Instagram where the camera briefly pans to Dee's head near his lap.

The video led people to speculate the video was of a salacious nature. He later put up a picture of himself reclining on the deck, which he captioned “If you’re getting it, get it top floor of the triple deck.”

Social media feud

McGregor is known for taking shots at rivals on Twitter, however his most recent social media feud stirred up more controversy than usual.

McGregor was labelled "embarrassing" by fans for mocking PJ Gallagher's mental health. The feud kicked off when comedian Gallagher shared a tweet showing UFC broadcaster Laura Sanko claim the Dublin man was a British fighter. Gallagher wrote in his post: "Normally this kind of thing winds me up but they can have this lad."

McGregor called the comment as the "heaviest" possible criticism for someone from Ireland. He then went on a nasty rant mocking Gallagher's mental health struggles.

Irish football great Paul McGrath then joined in the argument by labelling McGregor a "bully" for his comments to Gallagher. The MMA star then took to Twitter and said: “I challenge PJ and Paul McGrath to 2 vs 1 boxing match in aid of mental health and anti-bullying organisations.”

"[PJ] attempted to publicly rally people against me with a disgraceful insult and out of nowhere too, all while being an advocate for mental health in the press. It is the height of hypocrisy. I don’t know him. Never spoke on him once in my life," McGregor wrote.

McGregor then appeared to back down, uploading a sarcastic video saying: "That'll do, I'll tell yous what that's the filer that. We're going to call it a day on the PJ and McGrath and all yeah, yous won this round lads yeah fair play to yous have a good one. Lads, yous won this round fair play to yous, catch yous on the flip. I'm gonna bow out and say you know what, I'm going to be the bigger man and bow out."

Butler video

Conor McGregor surprised fans after filming himself demanding a bottle of water from a butler. The Dubliner posted the video to Twitter back in March and appeared to be in a plush hotel.

At the beginning of the clip, the former two-weight world champion appears to sniff from a bowl of incense. A butler then approaches with a tray which has a container with pills in it.

The UFC star takes the pills and asks the butler to fetch him a bottle of water, which he duly does. McGregor swallows the tablets before holding the bottle of water in the air in expectation as the butler rushes in to collect it.

He then returns to his incense as the strange video ends. In a follow-up Tweet, he writes: "I told ya’s I have the butler delete all the tweets, I wasn’t joking when I said that ahahaha"

McGregor, who rose from poverty to become the richest sportsman in the world last year, came in for some criticism over the video.

"My man's using that poor man for a video," one wrote, while another added: "A butler? Why? All the money in the world but I would never have one."

Someone else said: "Thank you means nothing when you treat someone like they're they're a slave mate."

Photo with one of the 'Dubai Two' in Dublin pub

Conor McGregor shared a picture with one of the "Dubai Two" enjoying a drink in his Dublin pub back in February. The Notorious posted the image with Niamh Mulreany on his Instagram account accompanied with a lengthy caption in which he said: "One half of the Dubai 2 in the house Saturday night."

Niamh Mulreany, 25 and Kirstie McGrath, 30, both of whom are from Dublin, hit headlines when they were arrested for alleged breaches to the Health Act on Good Friday, 2021.

The pair flew back from the United Arab Emirates, where they had planned to get a boob job and belly op. It is alleged that they refused to go into mandatory hotel quarantine after returning but they deny the charges. At the time breaking the 14-day hotel quarantine law for travellers arriving in the State could result in a €2,000 fine and a sentence of up to one-month in jail.

The Notorious and Ms Mulreany were all smiles as they posed for the snaps in the busy Black Forge pub.
