The couple who have transformed their home into the classiest Christmas grotto you've ever seen

We all need a little bit of extra cheer this year, and for Ryan Fortt and Richard Beard, that joy comes in the form of 104 feet of garlands, a handful of Christmas trees and a couple thousand baubles.

The Barry couple have turned their Edwardian home into a gorgeous Christmas grotto with the classiest decorations you have ever seen.

The display spans the whole of their house and took Ryan, the creative genius behind it all, around ten days, but Richard said he is still adding to the creation now.

"Ryan is very creative, he always goes a bit extra. We have always done it, it seems to have just grown a little bit more each year," Richard said.

"We always have quite a lot of family and friends around so we like to make an effort, obviously that can't happen this year but we still want it to feel special."

"Each room has got a completely different theme, our sitting room is almost like a winter wonderland, our dining room has a Home Alone theme and the living room is a Christmas grotto.

"There are 104ft worth of Christmas garlands around the house and there's elves going all the way up the stairs," said Richard.

There are four main Christmas trees which are over seven foot tall and decorated in beautiful bows and baubles.

"It has kept us entertained for sure."

The couple who run a launderette have lived in the old Edwardian for a year and started an Instagram page, @raro.living, to share the progress of their renovations.

It quickly turned into Ryan sharing decor snaps, making changes each season.

Richard said their attic is full of seasonal decorations for Valentine's Day displays, Easter displays, Summer and Halloween right up to Christmas, which is Ryan's favourite time of year.

"We have moved all the plants upstairs, we have what Ryan calls a 'business as usual' section with everything that is 'normal' decor.

"Every time I come home he's done something different with the house," said Richard.

The couple's home has become known by neighbours who look forward to their displays for every season.

Their Halloween decorations were filled through the whole house and looked spectacular from the street.
