The country's first ever Barbie shop has opened in Liverpool

Barbie the doll has been enchanting kids since 1959 and now the iconic plastic toy has its own dedicated Barbie shop.

The pop-up store opened in Liverpool helping to mark International Day of the Girl, on Upper South John Street at Liverpool ONE and as expected, pink is the chosen colour scheme.

Liverpool ONE has welcomed a new retailer in the form of Barbie as the brand opened its only store in the UK (Echo)

Inside its walls are filled with dolls from the brand, neon signs and even a Barbie truck - it's like someone asked our eight-year-old selves what we wanted in a shop, reports the ECHO .

It's not just toys either, there is also a collection of Barbie clothing which can be bought as well as accessories too.

The store itself will be open for six weeks and is based in the premises which previously homed Fat Face and before that Real Buzz.

The opening was teased two weeks ago when hoardings around the site went up letting customers know what to expect.
