The only exemptions are countries named as part of the 'travel corridor' or is within the Common Travel Area - such as Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

On Saturday, the Scottish Government removed Spain from the exemption list, due to an increased number of cases of coronavirus in the last few days. The decision was also made by the UK Government as well as the devolved administrations in Northern Ireland and Wales.

It comes as the UK Government warned that immediate restrictions could be imposed on countries other than Spain as a number of European countries see rises in cases.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson warned: "I'm afraid you are starting to see in some places the signs of a second wave of the pandemic."

He added: "It's vital that when people are coming back from abroad, if they are coming back from a place where I'm afraid there is another outbreak, they must go into quarantine.

"That's why we have taken the action that we have and we will continue, throughout the summer, to take such action where it is necessary."
