Ideas sprout from his sentences like shoots from the earth; his narratives branch and take root like an interconnected forest. Pulitzer Prize-winning author Richard Powers has put the biosphere at the centre of his writing, while drawing readers in with compelling, captivating stories that get at the heart of the human experience. Of his previous book, "The Overstory", Barack Obama said that it "changed the way I thought about the Earth and our place in it".
Powers joins us in the studio to talk about why his latest novel, "Bewilderment", challenges the notion that neurodivergent people need to be "cured". The author then touches on the power of stories when it comes to shifting mentalities and realities.
We also discuss the next generation of climate crusaders and the need to move on from a human-centric view of the universe.
