The 'correct' way to eat pineapple as many people had 'no idea' how to cut fruit

People on social media have been blown away after discovering a pineapple-cutting hack that makes it much easier to eat.

The spiky fruit often comes pre-sliced and ready to enjoy in handy packaging, but if you've got your hands on a full one, you might be wondering the best way to tuck in.

Even the sharpest of knives can struggle to cut the tough fruit all the way across, resulting in a mess and injuries if you're not careful. Luckily, one person on TikTok has revealed a much simpler method that anyone can follow.

Posting on the popular video-sharing app, the woman created a short clip showing how to cut the pineapple into handy bite-sized pieces.

TikTokker Diane captioned the video: "You were today years old when you learned..." alongside a shot of her tucking into the sweet fruit.

The Sun reports that in the clip, she's seen to place the pineapple on a chopping board and using a knife to slice it diagonally where the markings are.

She then did the same in the opposite direction, still following the lines.

Then, Diane used the knife to remove one of the cuttings - which came out in a handy stick form, ready to be enjoyed.

People in the comments were amazed at the hack, and wondered how they hadn't come across it before.

"I need to go buy a pineapple," someone said, while another commented: "OMG who knew?!"

A third wrote: "Oh nice!! Less waste!!" and a fourth simple penned: "Unbelievable."

Another TikToker suggested an even handier method to eat the spiky fruit.

They wrote: "You can just roll it on a table, putting pressure on the top and pushing down.

"Does the same thing but easier, faster and no knife."

It comes shortly after a different TikTokker shared a simple onion-cutting hack that makes preparing meals much easier - with less tears involved.

Instead of struggling with a knife, he suggested using a vegetable peeler to shave the peeled onion and break it down into small piece that are perfect for cooking with.

The hack has been hailed as a "life-changer" in the kitchen, with many people vowing to only use this method from now on.
