The cool-girl French bridal brands you need on your radar

Rime Arodaky's bridal designs are the epitome of French chic (Picture: Rime Arodaky)

As Ellie Goulding wed the man of her dreams, Caspar Jopling, tongues were sat wagging across the world about her wedding dress (the first of four that is.)

When it was finally revealed that the gown was a work of art courtesy of French fashion house Chloé there was little surprise.

After all, the dress was a picture of elegance. Chic yet effortless, traditional yet contemporary, in short, the epitome of French fashion as a whole.

But for those who aren’t in a position to pay for a custom-made Chloé gown for their big day, there are a handful of divine French bridal designers who evoke the same emotions with their designs, but at a fraction of the price.

These brands are leading the French bridal force and oh la la, aren’t they lovely?

Rime Arodaky

Founded in 2011, this Parisian label is the cult French bridal brand that if you don’t have on your radar, why not? The brand’s designs are the epitome of cool girl Parisian chic, all tousled hair and effortless dresses which cut on the bias.

Not after a dress? Not to worry. She’s also the Queen of the wedding jumpsuit, the wedding miniskirt and also has a honeymoon collection just for those wanting to drag the party out for longer.

Her pieces are available to buy now via Net-A-Porter, or via her website.

Donatelle Godart

It takes a certain kind of style maven to design their own wedding gown, but after she did just that in 2014, Godart founded her namesake label.

With years of experience in the fashion industry under her belt, Godart understands the needs of the modern woman and so creates bespoke dresses which are always made to suit the personality of the bride.

Available to buy via her website.

Manon Gontero

Marseille-based Manon Gontero tears up the bridal rule book, as the house aims to re-define what a wedding dress ‘should’ look like.

Gontero designs the sassy wedding dresses that dreams are made of; think thigh-skimming hemlines and effortless slip-dress-style silhouettes.

Manivet’s designs have been worn by the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker and Elvis Presley’s granddaughter, Riley Keough, and for good reason.

She knows how her way around a bias-cut like nobody else and her simple and minimalist designs make her a sure-fire bet for any big day.

Available to buy via her website.

Elise Martimort

37-year-old Martimort’s bridal designs are truly the stuff of dreams; she is known for saying “a wedding dress is not a costume”, as every bride wants to feel their best on their big day.

We are huge fans of the embellished numbers.
