The controversial try awarded in big Welsh rugby derby that's left fans scratching their heads

The Dragons took the lead in at half time against the Ospreys thanks to a barnstorming try from tight-head prop Leon Brown... but should it have stood?

There are few more majestic sights in the game than a tight forward in full flight and Brown charged over the line from 30 metres out after picking a sumptuous line off Elliot Dee.

Rodney Parade erupted at the sight of the Wales international striding over but immediately there were fears it would be pulled back.

In real time it had the hint of a forward pass as Brown took and inside ball off Dee and the replays seemed to confirm it.

Referee Andrew Brace, though, was told that a second look wasn't required by his TMO Brian MacNeice and the try stood.

Ospreys fans and players, who will feel like the world is against them at the moment having won just one out of 13 matches this season, can feel hard done-by.

If Brace had taken a second look, he would surely have disallowed the try, which looked clearly forward, but it stood and the Dragons led at the break.
