The compliment Mikel Arteta paid to Leeds and Marcelo Bielsa after Arsenal's win

Mikel Arteta has described Leeds as a "nightmare" to play against, after Arsenal sealed their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 1-0 win at the Emirates Stadium.

Reiss Nelson netted the only goal of the game as the Gunners made it through to the last 32 of the competition, setting up a fourth round tie against Bournemouth.

But Arsenal were made to work hard for their win, with Leeds dominating the first half of the contest, with 15 attempts at goal compared to just three for the Gunners.

And Arsenal's head coach has heaped praise on the Championship league leaders and how they approached the game.

Mikel Arteta's simple response to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang rumours

"(They are) a nightmare! A nightmare for every team to play. I said before the game, to play against them is like going to the dentist! It's tough. they make it really hard," Arteta said, speaking in his post-match press conference.

"They are a great team, what they have achieved consistently every three days with those players - what they built there is powerful.

“I watched a lot of Leeds and they batter every team every three days and that is the expectation.

"You can see every time you analyse any of their games it's exactly like this so it's top to see that, top.
