The Complete Nonsense of Edward Lear - review

Edward Lear, The Complete Nonsense of Edward Lear (Faber Children

I really enjoyed this book because it has funny short limericks that made me laugh like 'There was an Old Man who said, 'Well! Will nobody answer this bell? I have pulled day and night, till my hair has grown white, but nobody answers this bell!'

The book is made up of three different books written by Edward Lear: A Book of Nonsense (1846); Nonsense Songs, Stories, Botany and Alphabets (1871) and More Nonsense, Pictures, Rhymes, Botany Etc (1872).

I liked how, on the blurb, it said 'For anyone who has a silly side, young and old' and that really told me that this book would be great to read. I've definitely got a silly side or two. I would recomend this for a day when you're feeling blue, as it would brighten up your life. Age-wise I think this for ages 7-10 (as some of the words are quite tricky, like 'broth', 'peculiar', 'oker', 'melancholy').
