He could often be seen astride a sit-on lawnmower, making sure the grass around the flower beds he nurtured was pristine.
Harry Jones was a familiar sight in his corner of Timperley for decades.
Now tributes have been paid to the community stalwart who has died aged 77.
Harry was Chair of Broomwood Open Spaces (BOSS) since it was set up over 10 years ago.
He was often seen litter picking and looking after the environment on Broomwood.

Harry led on many projects, including the upgrading of the gardens at the side of the G-Force cafe, helping turn it into a lovely garden and seating area for residents.
He also helped add the flowerbed at the end of Mainwood Road and was often seen cutting the grass on the Broomwood Park and Brooks Drive.
Paul Huxley, chief executive pfficer of the Charity G-Force said: "Everybody who knew Harry said he was a lovely family man who also cared very much for his community. Harry never did things by halves.
"You could always rely on Harry for help, advise and always to do a great job.

"I know we at G-Force will miss him greatly as will many people on Broomwood who owe him a great debt of gratitude for all he has done for our community.
"Both Elaine, Harry's wife of 53 years, and his granddaughter Lucy, were the love of his life and our thoughts and prayers go out to them both."
Harry died after a 20 year long battle with cancer - fighting all the way.
Paul added: "He was old school.
"Everything he did was done to the letter. He had decent morals and a heart of gold."
