Easter fun in Woking Over 100 New Vision Homes residents, living in sheltered and supported homes, attended an ‘Easter Eggstravaganza’ on Thursday 21 March 2013 at the Moorcroft community centre in Woking. The community centre was transformed into an Easter tea room, with daffodils, balloons and other ‘eggciting’ decorations, including a Cadbury cream egg for each guest. The afternoon was kept light hearted with an afternoon tea service for all guests later in the day.Photograph: PinnacleSchool kit boost Aspiring footballers from Arbour Vale School, Slough, have a brand new set of sports kits after striking a sponsorship deal with Pinnacle PSG after their previous kits were destroyed in a recent arson attack on the school changing rooms. Pinnacle PSG, the school’s facilities management partner, was happy to step in and procure the 17 new football kits which included shirts, shorts and socks, which cost around £800.Photograph: PinnacleSchool children spring into action 27 school children and their teachers from St Francis Primary school in Shelfield took part in a planting session in Autumn Close, Walsall. Pinnacle PSG cleared the leaves around the bungalow complex to make it easier for the children to plant their bulbs. Elderly residents came out to watch the children and helped pick where they would like the daffodils planted. Meeting the customers Over 100 local residents turned out for Lambeth Living’s ‘Information Cafe’ held in Norwood’s local Salvation Army Hall. The event displayed all of Lambeth’s services and gave residents the chance to talk directly to the Council and its contractors. Pinnacle PSG set up a stall where two of Pinnacle PSG’s staff were on hand to discuss any cleaning and grounds maintenance issues that local residents may have had. Pinnacle PSG also organised a raffle on their stand, with the winning prize of a Kindle going to local resident Joan Williams. All comments from residents, Lambeth staff, and local Councillors were favourable in Pinnacle PSG’s efforts to raise the environmental standards of living on the Lambeth housing estates.Photograph: PinnacleIrish eyes were smiling in Westminster A little bit of Ireland came to the Lydford Estate in Kilburn, Westminster, on St Patricks Day when over 30 local residents came together to celebrate. The event was organised by CityWest Homes and Pinnacle PSG for the elderly residents living on the Lydford Estate and North Street and was funded by its North Area Management Committee. Although there is a sizeable Irish community on the estate, all local elderly residents were welcome to attend. The event included refreshments, live music and an Irish-themed slideshow on a large cinema screen.Photograph: PinnacleFive nights of family fun Tinsel town came to Maida Vale in the form of CityWest Homes’ and Pinnacle PSG’s week-long free film festival. Over the half-term, local residents were able to see a different film every day using the housing management team’s cinema kit. Over the five nights an estimate 300 residents attended the film days. Popular films including Toy Story, Great Expectations, Despicable Me and Madagascar were shown to residents. The week cuilminated in a video games night at Portgate Hall for the Lydford Youth GroupPhotograph: PinnacleThe great Easter egg hunt Over 30 children from the Myatt’s Field North Estate and surrounding areas attended the ‘great Easter egg hunt’ in April at Myatt’s Field Park. When residents arrived they were greeted by Pinnacle PSG staff and lunch which included sandwiches, fruit and other nibbles. The egg hunt began with all the children collecting red suit playing cards hidden in the park within a 20 minute timescale, the cards could then be traded in for a Cadburys creme egg. The children were then asked to search for the black suit cards that included clues which would lead them to the Easter Bunny. Once the clues had been collectively figured out by the children, they rushed to find the Bunny who greeted them all with goodie bags.Photograph: PinnacleThe Dog Factor - CityWest Homes and Pinnacle PSG's Queen’s Park housing team organised its own ‘X Factor’ competition, but with a difference….dogs were the stars of the show. ‘The Dog Factor’ took place at St Judes Hall in Queens Park, Westminster and featured dogs of all shapes and sizes entered in a variety of categories.Photograph: PinnacleWestminster Allotments - A site disused in Little Venice, Westminster was transformed into 28 allotments for local residents by Pinnacle PSG. With the approval of CityWest Homes, 10 Pinnacle PSG grounds maintenance staff set to work on the project and two weeks later the allotments were ready for planting.Photograph: PinnacleWoking Art Club - Youngsters in Sheerwater and Maybury, Woking, are now benefiting from an art club based in the Parkview Centre for the Community. The club provides a free, fun, weekly after school experience for children aged from 6 to 12 years old and is sponsored by the Sheerwater and Maybury Children's Art Club and New Vision Homes, a joint venture between Pinnacle PSG and Mansell.Photograph: PinnacleClare Estate Park - Councillor Helen Klier, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, had a swinging time, along with youngsters from the Clare Estate, Lewisham when she officially opened the ‘Clare Estate Children’s Playground’. The new playground was completed thanks to £50,000 worth of funding from Lewisham Council and Pinnacle PSG designing, building and landscaping the playground . Pinnacle PSG provides housing management in the area.Photograph: PinnacleTea Dance - More than 70 residents from the Mozart Estate, Westminster joined the Lord Mayor of Westminster, Susie Burbridge, for the estates first ever tea dance. Held at St Jude’s Hall, the event gave residents over 60 years old an opportunity to enjoy live musical entertainment, have tea with their neighbours and dance the afternoon away.Photograph: PinnacleWestminster Cycling Cinema - St Judes Hall on the Queens Park Estate hosted the first Cycling Cinema event hosted in October 2011. The free event treated over 30 local residents to the film “Les Triplettes de Belleville" (The Triplets of Belleville).The event was followed the next day by a second cinema at Forty Tree Green in Maida Vale. Over 60 residents enjoyed “Kung Fu Panda”, despite the event taking place in the open air on the estate. Since then, Cycle Cinema has become a regular community fixture across housing estates in Westminster.Photograph: PinnacleKirklees Homes Occupied - Newly named Rufford View in Milnsbridge, Huddersfield, will be welcoming its first tenants in the next few weeks, after the first of 466 new council homes for rent are completed ahead of schedule. The Phoenix youth group and the Avenues girls group attended the event (both groups are organised by Pinnacle PSG employees), which was aimed at getting young people from the local area to engage with each other in a supervised environment and building stronger relations with local residents.Photograph: PinnacleNVH Christmas Event - Hundreds of Woking residents got their skates on to have some icy fun after a temporary rink was opened in Woking town centre during December 2012. With the sun shining overhead, residents came together on their local high street to have dinosaurs and butterflies expertly painted onto their faces, to munch on giant mounds of candy floss, to talk to the local police and community groups and even to meet their new furry neighbours at the pop-up city farm.Photograph: PinnacleNVH Halloween Party - Over 120 ghost and ghouls, big and small, took part in a spooky Halloween party in Woking on the 26th October. The party was arranged by Woking Community Police, Sure Start children’s centres and Pinnacle PSG and funded by the Maybury and Sheerwater Partnership.Photograph: PinnacleMaida Vale goes Latin - A small piece of Latin America came to the Maida Vale Estate when salsa topped the bill at the Maida Vale ‘Fun day’ held at Randolph Gardens, NW6. It was the fifth annual fun day to take place in Maida Vale.
