With more coffee shops around than ever before its never been easier to get a quick caffeine boost.
But while we're enjoying our Americanos or mulling over our mochas, it's worth thinking about the impact a takeaway coffee cup has on the environment.
Recently WalesOnline launched its Wales Against Plastics campaign to get people thinking about this issue. The aim is to challenge the nation to cut down on single-use plastics, promote more responsible recycling, and hold the public and private sectors accountable for doing more to reduce our reliance on plastic.
It's estimated that around 2.5 billion takeaway coffee cups - which often aren't recyclable - end up in the bin in the UK on a yearly basis.
Obviously this isn't good, but there are little things you can do to help take the strain off the planet.
One of those ways is by taking a reusable cup to a coffee shop - and some places will even give you money off for doing so.
Here are the coffee shops and cafes in Cardiff that'll give you a discount when you take your own cup with you.
Uncommon Ground
This arcade coffee shop will give you 10% off if you bring your own reusable cup.
They also sell their own, branded reusable cups for £12, and you get a free drink when you buy one.

Brod
The Danish bakery and coffee shop also give customers a discount for bringing their own mug.
Here you'll get 20p off.

Hardlines
Take your own cup to Cardiff Market and you'll get 20p off your coffee.
They also sell KeepCups, that start from £9.

Bloc
The former toilet block-turned coffee shop charge 20p for one of their single use cups, but they'll also take off 40p if you bring your own.
And they've got their own cups that they sell from £7 each.

Lufkin
Lufkin now has three venues and will give you 25p off in each of them if you bring your own cup.
They'll give you 35p off if it's a Lufkin cup (these cost £35). They also charge 10p for compostable takeaway cups.

Brodies
It's one of Cardiff's smallest coffee shops and the location isn't bad either. You'll get 20p off your hot drink here when you bring your own mug.

Secret Garden Cafe
Another park-based coffee shop - here you'll get 25p off.
Where: Bute Park, Cardiff, CF10 3ER
Stag
It’s 30p off if you bring your own cup here.
Their take away cups are compostable too and they've recently started using paper straws.

Little Man
If you take your own cup to Little Man, you'll get an extra stamp on the loyalty. They say the value to the customer works out as around 28p.

Pettigrew Tea Rooms
The tea rooms near the castle will give customers 20p off their hot drinks, when they bring a reusable cup.

The Deck
The Deck offers all of their hot drinks at £1.50, if someone brings their own re usable cup in.
For comparison, an Americano usually costs £2.20, and a mocha is £2.50, so you can save up to £1.

Milk and Sugar
You'll get 15p off at any of the Milk and Sugar venues dotted around Cardiff when you take in your own cup.

Kin + Ilk
As well as getting 10% off if you take in your own cup, these shops also use vegware, which is 100% compostable packing.

Waterloo Tea
They've got three Cardiff shops, and you can get any hot drink for £2 with a reusable cup.
For comparison an American is usually £2.70 and a flat white is £3. They also sell KeepCups from £11 including a free drink.

Here they offer 10% whenever someone brings in a reusable cup.

Costa
The chain coffee store offers a deal where if you opt to use a reusable coffee cup instead of a disposable one, you can get a 25p discount on any "handcrafted" drink in store.
The chain offers its own branded Costa reusable tumblers.

The bakery chain offers customers 20p discount on cups of coffee. You also get a free drink if you buy one of their resuable cups.
