The Clippers trailed the Mavs by a record 50 points(!) at halftime and NBA fans had lots of jokes

Chances are you were watching lots of football this afternoon when suddenly you saw an alert from ESPN or something on Twitter about the Los Angeles Clippers trailing the Dallas Mavericks at halftime and you thought nothing of it. But then you realized it said they trailed by 50 points and you were amazed/wondered if it was a typo.

It wasn’t a typo, though, as the Clippers really did go into halftime at home on Sunday trailing the Mavs by a ridiculous score of 77-27.

77-27!

That is just insane score and it’s a halftime deficit that we haven’t seen in quite some time at the NBA level. In fact, it’s a record:

Kawhi Leonard isn’t playing today but that doesn’t make this any less embarrassing for the Clippers.
