The click and collect services still allowed under Scotland’s new lockdown restrictions

Nicola Sturgeon has announced a tightening of restrictions for click and collect services across the country.

The First Minister said that the situation in Scotland remains 'extremely serious' and additional measures will be introduced to further reduce interactions that allow coronavirus to spread.

A stay at home order is in place across the country until at least the end January, with residents only allowed to leave their homes for essential purposes.

What are the new changes?

From Saturday, non-essential click and collect retail services will be prohibited in Level 4 areas.

Businesses still allowed to operate will have tougher measures enforced to ensure customers don't mix.

Time slots will be required for collection and people won't be allowed to enter a shop to collect an item.

Which businesses will still be able to offer click and collect?

Click and Collect services will be suspended across retail other than for:

  • clothing and footwear stores
  • homeware stores
  • garden centres/plant nurseries
  • baby equipment shops
  • electrical goods (including repairs)
  • key cutting and shoe repair shops
  • bookstores

The new regulations apply to all parts of Scotland currently in lockdown and will come into force at midnight on Friday going into Saturday morning.
