The city centre road closures coming into force for roadworks

Ongoing roadworks as part of the overhaul of one of Bristol's main arteries means key roads will shut for a short amount of time.

Motorists are being warned that key routes around Bristol Temple meads will be shut at certain times and that bus journeys will also be affected.

FirstBus is alerting customers that certain services are going to be affected during the works, which will be installing anti-skid surfacing, from Monday, September 30 to Tuesday, October 1.

It comes after more than two years of roadworks and traffic chaos around Temple Meads , as the plans to overhaul the roundabout system outside the train station soon comes to an end.

Bristol City Council confirmed in July that the Temple Circus roadworks remain on schedule to be finished in autumn this year.

The project suffered a major setback last year when it was revealed that the works, which ultimately removed the former Temple Circus gyratory roundabout , would be delayed by nine months.

Below are the coming roadworks and the services affected

Between 8pm to 6am on those two days Victoria Street, Redcliffe Way, Temple Gate and Temple Way will be closed in both directions.
