Blues consider Neuer bid
With Kepa Arrizabalaga failing to fully nail down the number one shirt at Stamford Bridge, Frank Lampard has begun to search for a potential replacement for the Spaniard.
And Chelsea could be ready to bring in a household name to be their new shot stopper with German publication Bild reporting that the Blues are interested in Bayern Munich star Manuel Neuer.
The German’s current contract is set to expire in 2021 and the Bundesliga giants could be convinced to cash in, with the two sides still unable to work out a new deal.
Donnarumma focused on Milan for now
A potential alternative to Neuer is Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, with recent reports suggesting he could be available for just €60million (£54.3million) this summer.
But the Daily Mail suggest that the Italian focussed on improving his situation at Milan for now, despite interest from Chelsea.
Like Neuer, however, the 21-year-old is only under contract until next summer and there remains a possibility he could be on the move.
Man United offer youngster new deal amid Chelsea interest
Manchester United have entered new discussions with young star Angel Gomes over a new contract, with Chelsea believed to be pursuing a move for the teenager.
The 19-year-old’s current contract expires at the end of the season and Academy manager Nicky Butt admitted that the club were having a “dispute” with Gomes over his future, leading to speculation that he could be on the move at the end of the campaign.
But Metro report that United have offered the midfielder a new two-year deal worth £30,000 a week, with an option of a third year, in order to ward off Chelsea’s interest.
Meanwhile, the Blues hope that Lampard’s faith in young players during his reign in west London can convince Gomes to make the move to the capital.
