The Chelsea morning headlines as Willian decision made, £40m Chilwell alternative, Drinkwater

Here are your Chelsea morning headlines for Wednesday, 11th March.

Drinkwater to return from loan spell

Danny Drinkwater's loan move to Aston Villa could be cut short after he reportedly had a training ground row with Jota.

The Chelsea midfielder is said to have headbutted the Spaniard following a disagreement at Bodymoor Heath, leaving the 30-year-old's future in serious doubt.

As per the terms of the loan deal, Villa will still have to foot the bill.

He will likely receive a hefty fine following an internal investigation and despite the costs, Dean Smith may decide it is better to cut Drinkwater loose than carry a risk of further issues as they try to remain in the Premier League.

£40m Chilwell alternative

According to Portuguese outlet A Bola - as reported by the Daily Mail - Alex Telles has signalled his intentions to leave Porto after rejecting an offer of a new contract.

Telles' current deal expires at the end of next season which means Porto are ready to cash in once the transfer window opens in order to avoid losing him for free.

This is set to alert Chelsea.

Goal are reporting that Frank Lampard is keen to sign a left-back this summer.

Leicester City's Ben Chilwell is a name constantly tipped for a move to Stamford Bridge, but the Foxes' asking price could place any transfer in doubt.

As a result, the Blues will turn their attentions to Telles if the England international proves to be out of reach.

Willian decision made

Willian expected to leave Chelsea when his contract expires in the summer.

That's according to the Telegraph who state that the Blues have offered the Brazilian a two-year deal but there has been no breakthrough on agreeing fresh terms after the attacking midfielder demanded a three-year extension.

In addition, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich among the clubs reportedly considering him as a free transfer in the summer.

Ampadu speaks out

Ethan Ampadu has said he's not paying attention to Chelsea summer transfer rumours.

The Wales international is currently on loan at RB Leipzig but will report for pre-season training at Cobham this summer and is confident he will be given a chance under head coach Lampard.

"In our sport most people progress on talent and hard work — and that’s what I see at Chelsea,” Ampadu told The Evening Standard.

"Honestly, I pay no attention to the rumours [of big spending]. Sorry if that’s a boring answer but I'm just concentrating on my football and trying to get better every day.

"I followed Chelsea as a young fan until I joined the club as a player aged 16.

"From that point, I thought only about its future and that’s all I am concerned about. It’s my club, always has been and it will always be my home in football."
