The Chelsea morning headlines as Lampard gets big boost, Sancho asking price, Alex Telles update

Here are your Chelsea morning headlines for Tuesday, 3rd March.

Lampard gets big boost

Ruben Loftus-Cheek played 90 minutes for the first time in nearly a year as the Chelsea U23's beat their Everton counterparts 1-0 last night.

Since returning to full fitness after he ruptured his Achilles' tendon in the post season friendly ahead of last season's Europa League final, the midfielder had only played for 60 minutes.

But he managed to play the entire game against the Toffees in what can only be described as a massive boost for Frank Lampard and it was an eventful one at that.

Loftus-Cheek won the penalty, which Luke McCormick smashed home to break the deadlock and was on the receiving end of a really nasty tackle, but managed to get back up after treatment.

Sancho asking price

Jadon Sancho continues to be linked with a summer return to the Premier League.

Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are just some of his potential suitors and according to Bild - as per Sport Witness - it will cost any team €140m to land the England international.

Although, Borussia Dortmund director of football, Michael Zorc, has heaped praise on the teenager.

"In the training camp in Marbella I noticed that Jadon has been there with incredible enthusiasm since the beginning of January," he told Bild. "You can see that in the games now.

"He has to continue in the same way."

Porto ready to cash in on Alex Telles

Left-back Alex Telles has put Chelsea on notice ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to Portuguese outlet A Bola - as reported by the Daily Mail - the 27-year-old has signalled his intentions to leave Porto after rejecting an offer of a new contract.

Telles' current deal expires at the end of next season which means Porto are ready to cash in once the transfer window opens in order to avoid losing him for free.

The Brazil international is said to have an £33.5m release clause in his contract, but the Blues could face competition from elsewhere.

Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested, while Juventus are said to be ready to challenge the west London outfit for Telles' signature and are weighing up a £21m bid.

The big IFAB change

The International Football Association Board (IFAB) has agreed to draw up protocols for substitution trials to address concussion incidents.

This decision which could eventually impact Premier League clubs including Chelsea has been made following feedback from the recent meeting of the Concussion Expert Group (CEG).

IFAB have agreed that they will now undertake more research on the matter before proposing potential changes to the Laws of the Game moving forward.
