The Chelsea morning headlines as Hazard makes admission, big Hudson-Odoi update, James praised

Here are your Chelsea morning headlines for Tuesday, March 24.

Hazard names difference between Chelsea and Real Madrid

Eden Hazard has outlined the support of the Real Madrid fans as one of the major differences from his time at Chelsea.

The Belgium international joined the La Liga giants last summer in a deal that could rise to £130million depending on performances.

And the winger claims the fanatical support of the fans is what sets his new club apart from his former employers in west London.

The most expensive Premier League transfers ever

"At Chelsea when we lost, we were disappointed, like the fans, but I never felt it was a disaster, it’s different in Spain," Hazard said last September.

"I think that here the fans are really fans, football is everything to them and they need players to give everything, in England there aren’t so many fans.

"Of course, people there like football and everyone, be that young people, adults or teenagers, are really interested in football, but they aren’t so fanatical about their teams."

Ferdinand praises James

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has said that it is Reece James who will become a "mainstay” in the Chelsea team in years to come.

"Another one is Reece James - I like this kid. With his crossing he puts teams under pressure, he wants to hurt the opposing team and make you face your own goal," he said.

"He's got so much growth in his game. He is versatile - he's played centre-half for Wigan, he can play right-back, even in centre midfield.

"Plus he looks like he's got a great temperament which is huge and physically he is like a middleweight boxer.

"He's strong, solid, quick and aggressive.

"I think he'll become a mainstay in that team."

Hudson-Odoi update

Chelsea have delivered an update on Callum Hudson-Odoi after the teenager tested positive for coronavirus earlier in the month.

"We are pleased to report Callum Hudson-Odoi is now feeling fine and back to his usual self following the period of self-isolation required after the player tested positive for COVID-19, a statement on Chelseafc.com reads.

"In addition to feeling good, the young winger is hard at work training at home to build and maintain his fitness, as are the rest of the Chelsea squad.

"It was first announced on Friday 13 March that having been tested for the virus, Hudson-Odoi had tested positive, a result that meant as well as self-isolation, the men’s first-team building at Cobham was initially closed while it underwent a deep-cleaning procedure." The winger took to social media soon after to reassure supporters he was recovering well. "I'm following the health guidelines and self-isolating myself from everybody," he confirmed at that time.
