The Chelsea morning headlines as Blues eye Man United man and Aston Villa make classy gesture

Here are your Chelsea morning headlines for Saturday March 14th.

Blues keen on Man Utd man

According to the Metro , Chelsea are keen to sign Manchester United youngster Angel Gomes once the summer transfer window opens.

The midfielder is out of contract at Old Trafford at the end of the season meaning that he will be able to sign for nothing should he agree a deal.

Manchester United have offered new terms to the player, but his representatives are said to be unhappy with the deal on offer with it looking unlikely that he will agree to extend his stay anytime soon.

That gives Frank Lampard a chance to jump in a steal the youngster on a free transfer.

Chelsea are said to be offering Gomes a place in their first-team squad next season in an attempt to tempt the midfielder away from Old Trafford.

The latest on Callum Hudson-Odoi and Premier League suspension

Hakim Ziyech's request

According to the Daily Mail Chelsea's first signing ahead of the 2020/21 season, Hakim Ziyech is hoping to persuade the club to make a summer move for Ajax teammate Andre Onana.

The goalkeeper is said to want a move to the Premier League in the summer, with both Chelsea and Tottenham linked.

Ziyech is close friends with the player and is reportedly hoping to help make a move to Stamford Bridge happen.

Aston Villa's gesture

There will be no Premier League games this weekend after the postponement of the Premier League due to the Coronavirus outbreak. It was announced on Friday that all games will be postponed until at least April 4th.

Chelsea were due to travel to Villa Park to take on Aston Villa this weekend, but the decision to postpone matches, which came after Callum Hudson-Odoi's diagnosis, means that no game will now take place.

Preparations were already taking place for the game, but the midlands club have made sure that no food has gone to waste by donating the already prepared meals to a homeless charity.

FIFA update

FiFA have moved to recommend that international fixtures are postponed in light of the Coronavirus outbreak, meaning that players are not likely to be going off on international duty during what was going to be the international break at the end of the month.

England were due to play friendly matches against Italy and Denmark, but both games have already been Postponed.

Despite the recommendation, FIFA say that: "the final decision on this issue rests with the respective competition organisers or relevant member association in case of friendlies," meaning that some could still possibly go ahead.
