The Chelsea morning headlines as Bayern Munich expert makes coronavirus claim, transfer complete

Here are your Chelsea morning headlines for Tuesday, 10th March.

Bayern Munich vs Chelsea to be played behind closed doors

Countries across Europe have been taking preventative steps to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Italy announced on Monday evening the suspension of all Serie A games until April 3 as they enter a country-wide lockdown in a bid to stop the virus from spreading further.

In Germany, matches will continue to take place, but there is a threat that all games could be played behind closed doors.

And Bayern Munich expert Christian Falk states that it is likely this will also happen for the Champions League game between Bayern Munich and Chelsea.

This would involve plenty of disruption for Blues fans who have already bought tickets for the match, as well as flights and accommodation.

Mount injury boost

Mason Mount should be fit for Chelsea's trip to Aston Villa at the weekend.

The 21-year-old was replaced by Reece James during the 4-0 win over Everton on Sunday - a match in which he ended his goal drought - but there had been concern of a potential knee problem.

Luckily, Mount has played down the seriousness of the injury.

"I took a little knock, a knee in the back of my knee," he said . "It was precautionary to see how it was. But now, I feel fine and hopefully in the next couple of days I will get treatment in and it will be fine.

"Speaking about it in the changing room afterwards, it is about time we scored a few goals at home, kept a clean sheen sheet and had a very dominant performance.

"It all came together today."

Transfer confirmed?

Chelsea appear to be closing in on the signing of HJK Helsinki wonderkid Jimi Tauriainen.

There are images of the teenager signing papers as well as posing with the Blues shirt alongside head coach Frank Lampard on social media.

All that's needed now is official confirmation.

Gilmour's best position

Billy Gilmour has been Chelsea's standout player during recent wins over Merseyside duo Liverpool and Everton at Stamford Bridge.

In these games Gilmour has shown his versatility.

He started as the holding midfielder against Everton, but was pushed into an advanced position following the introduction of Reece James in the second half and also helped himself to an assist.

But Mount thinks the Scotland wonderkid thrives in the deeper role.

"He’s played in that holding role, where he’s been very good," the England international said . "Probably the holding role, he is very comfortable on the ball and he is very confident.

"That’s probably his best position."
