Chelsea fear N'Golo Kante suffered a Grade 2 tear during the 2-0 defeat by Manchester United on Monday night, according to reports.
The midfielder - who has had his injury problems this season - limped off after just 12 minutes against the Red Devils and was replaced by Mason Mount.
Speaking after the game, Blues head coach Frank Lampard confirmed the nature of Kante's latest injury setback, but couldn't expand on just how serious the issue was.
"It's an adductor injury. We will have to assess it, scan it," he said during the Chelsea post-match interview.
"But it doesn’t look great.
"I don't know that yet, for sure. I can't give you that information. It's the same leg, so similar."
According to the Times, Chelsea fear that Kante will be out of action for at least three weeks which rules him out of Saturday's crunch Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
But what other games could the France international miss?
Well, a three-week time frame means Kante is looking at the middle of March to make his return action and that means he will also miss games against Bayern Munich, Bournemouth, Liverpool as well as Everton.
The west London outfit face Aston Villa away from home on March 14 and that could be a realistic return date target for Kante.
Four days later is the Champions League last-16 second leg tie against Bayern, before the Blues are scheduled to host Manchester City in the Premier League before the international break.
The Chelsea games Kante could miss:
Tottenham (h) Feb 22, Premier League
Bayern Munich (h) Feb 25, Champions League
Bournemouth (a) Feb 29, Premier League
Liverpool (h) March 3, FA Cup
Everton (h) March 8, Premier League
