The Chelsea evening headlines as £22.7m wonderkid targeted and Man United move to stop transfer

Here are your Chelsea evening headlines for Saturday, March 14.

Wonderkid eyed

Chelsea are the latest team to be linked with a move for Barcelona wonderkid Marc Cucurella.

The 21-year-old is on loan at Getafe from Barcelona this season and has impressed in La Liga.

According to Cadena Cope, Getafe are looking to turn his move into a permanent deal by paying Barcelona around €16million (£13.4m) for 60% of his rights.

However, the deal will include a release clause in his contract for €25million (£22.7million).

Arsenal and Tottenham have previously shown an interest in the left-sided player, but Chelsea have also made their move, scouting Cucurella in recent weeks.

Willian transfer

It looks increasingly unlikely that Willian will be at Stamford Bridge next season.

The 31-year-old is out of contract in west London and is looking for a three-year deal to stay.

He has, however, only been offered a two-year extension by the Blues, leading to plenty of speculation that he could move on for a free this summer.

Tottenham and Arsenal have been linked with a move - Spurs almost signed him in 2013, only for the Blues to swoop in at the last minute.

But there is more interest too, with Tuttosport claiming that former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri wants the Brazilian at Juventus.

Man United stop transfer

Reports have suggested that Chelsea are interested in signing Manchester United prospect Angel Gomes.

The playmaker is out of contract at Old Trafford this summer, meaning he is available on a free transfer.

And that has alerted Chelsea, who have a bedrock of young English talent on their books.

But United have moved to try and scupper any attempts Chelsea have of signing the midfielder on a free this summer - by offering him new terms on an extended deal.

According to the Metro , United have offered Gomes £25,000 per week, a deal similar to the one offered to and signed by Mason Greenwood recently.
