The most expensive house in Greater Manchester sold in February went for an eye-watering £1,040,000, it can be revealed today.
The massive detached property, with five bedrooms and four bathrooms was in the leafy suburb of Altrincham - where properties frequently feature as the most expensive in Greater Manchester, often fetching more than a million.
Other areas are becoming more popular for the higher end of the property market, with some of the most pricey properties sold in areas of Stockport, Sale and Urmston.
At the other end of the scale, the least expensive property sold in the region was a flat in Wigan, priced at £33,640.
Though two of the least expensive properties were both flats, the third least expensive was a whole house on Waterloo Street in Oldham, which was bought for just £40,000.
Across England and Wales there were 23,132 residential sales from February 2019 - with 366 of these involving properties costing £1m or more.
The North West seems to be firmly in the middle ground in terms of price.
The most expensive property in the UK was nearly ten times as much as the most expensive one in Manchester - a flat in Kensington and Chelsea which cost a whopping £9,813,370.
Similarly, no properties in Greater Manchester made it into the ten least expensive in the UK, a list largely dominated by places in the North East, like County Durham.
