The Chase: "Weak" contestant accused of hustling Chaser out of £22,000

The Chase host Bradley Walsh welcomed four new contestants to the show last night to bravely face The Beast.

Three of the four managed to get through the final round and win £32,000 between them.

Fans were convinced that The Beast got "hustled" (ITV)

But one contestant left viewers convinced that Mark Labbett had been "hustled" after he secured £22,000.

Rob, a diagnostics manager from Ipswich, told Bradley that he wanted to go on holiday with his wife to watch England play rugby in Australia or New Zealand.

Despite his ambitions, the 38-year-old only managed to win £2,000 in the cash builder.

The Beast then branded him a "weak’"contestant, urging him to consider the lower offer of £200.

Rob stunned viewers after making a stunning recovery from his "weak" cash builder (ITV)

He said: “There were some terrible answers there…

“A contestant as weak as you should seriously consider £200.”

But the brave contestant went for the £22,000, and managed to defeat the Chaser after answering every question correctly.

“I can’t fault you, when you get a low cash builder you might as well go in either direction,” Mark told him.

Viewers took to Twitter to say that the Chaser had been "hustled", but Rob later tweeted to say it was just "a fluke".

One said: “Rob really redeemed himself there.”

Another wrote: “Hahaha... that knocked the chaser down a peg or two.”

A third said: “The Beast 100% just got hustled.”

“I didn't expect that after his cash builder,” admitted another viewer.
