The Chase viewers rewind ITV show after getting spooked by mysterious voice

The Chase viewers were left rewinding the show on Tuesday night after claiming to hear a mysterious voice.

Those watching the ITV show took to social media to question whether they were the only ones "hearing things" during the episode.

The occurrence happened as retired nurse Debbie walked back to her team after winning £5,000.

However, as she reached fellow contestant Emma and received a hug a voice could be heard in the background.

Both Debbie and show host Bradley Walsh were talking at the time, so viewers were left unclear on where the voice was coming from.

And it's safe to say The Chase fans were a bit spooked about it.

Taking to Twitter and sharing the clip, one viewer asked: "Does anyone else hear the child’s voice? #TheChase."

Another asked: "Did anyone else hear a childlike voice speaking as Debbie went back to her seat, or was I just heating things!!?? #TheChase."

While a third wrote: "Am I the only one who heard a voice when Debbie was going back to her seat!? #TheChase."

Others believed it wasn't a mysterious voice at all but was one of the other contestants saying "well done" to Debbie as she sat back down.

One Twitter user thought it was contestant Emma who embraced Debbie and congratulated her after her efforts.

"It was Emma saying "well done", wrote one Twitter user.

Responding another tweeted: "I think you must be right! I saw her mouth was moving but I couldn't decide if it was in time to the words I heard!"

The team faced Ann Hegerty, known as the The Governess, on the show tonight but failed to beat her.

The team set a good target but The Chaser was far better leaving them with nothing.

The Chase is on ITV1 on weekdays at 5pm
