The Chase viewers rage over contestant’s win after she LOST her team £1,000

The Chase viewers were raging on Wednesday after a contestant got a slice of her teammates’ winnings after losing them £1,000.

Deanne, from Devon, took a minus offer from Chaser Paul 'The Sinnerman' Sinha during her round so that she could get back to her team and share Janice and Adam's impressive £10,000 winnings.

When offered the minus sum so she could have a better chance at beating Paul, she said: "I really didn't want to do this but I'm here for the day and I want to join those two at the end. I'm going to take minus £1,000."

And when it came to the final round, it was her teammates again who did the lion’s share of the work while the trainee hairdresser barely answered any questions.

As Paul got six questions wrong, the team secured a win after the Chaser fell short by two points.

This meant that they each won £3,000 each from the £9,000 pot - and Twitter lit up with frustration with how Deanne was carried to victory on the ITV gameshow.

One fumed: “Deanne didn't deserve a penny. Nothing annoys me more than people who go low."

Another posted: "Deanne has mugged them all off there.”

A third said: “Why are they even hugging Deanne!? She took a minus and answered no question. She doesn’t deserve a penny.”

The Chase is on ITV1, weekdays from 5pm
