The Chase viewers praise North Shields contestant for pushbacks after Mark Labbett labels them 'mediocre'

The Chase viewers praised a North East contestant for her pushback efforts after chaser Mark Labbett labelled them a 'mediocre' team.

Judith from North Shields appeared on Friday night's ITV show to try and beat the chasers and take home some cash. The 58-year-old English tutor told host Bradley Walsh she likes to find and sell vintage clothing with her daughter Rosie and would put the money towards making it into a business.

She had a good start in the cash builder round earning a solid £5,000 although Brad told her "she was better than that". And when it was time to face the chaser, Mark quipped: "Well there's no vintage clothing here, but you're about to see another vintage performance from me."

But as she took on the chaser, a couple of wrong answers meant Judith found herself in a one-question shoot-out. Thankfully Judith made it through with her £5,000 but lost two of her three team members causing Mark to blast the team as "mediocre".

However, in the final chase, Judith along with teammate Jamie managed to get 18 steps ahead of the chaser. And viewers were left impressed by Judith who gave two cracking answers to push the chaser back.

One Twitter user said: "Judith almost knocked it out of the park", while another said: "Judith giving some good answers". A third said: "Judith did well in the pushbacks."

Sadly, Judith's pushbacks weren't enough to push the team to victory and they were caught with just six seconds to spare. Mark however seemed to go back on his previous "mediocre" comments and said they "played well".
