The Chase viewers outraged by contestant's 'shameful' tactic and vent anger on Twitter

Viewers of The Chase hit out a contestant on Friday, branding them shameful for their actions.

While millions of people wait for the ITV show to start showing some new episodes, after filming was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic, its repeats have caused plenty of social media activity as arm chair critics have taken aim at a wide variety of quiz hopefuls.

And, fresh from someone being blasted for getting zero earlier in the week, this time it was Sally-Ann from Kent in the firing line.

After trying to earn plenty of money in the Cash Builder round at the start of the programme, she came up against Chaser Paul Sinha, better known to fans as The Sinnerman.

She was given a low offer of minus £10,000 and a high offer of £60,000.

The team already had a decent £40,000 in the bank and her teammate Omer urged her to take the minus offer in a bid to make it back to them unscathed.

She told Bradley: "I'll go for the ten please."

Knowing the viewers watching would be furious, Paul even quipped: "Twitter will be furious, they've got no right to be furious. Tactically this is exactly the right thing to do."

The Chase contestant mortified as they get zero in Cash Builder

One wrote: "Minus £10,000..for the balloonist. A good move or shameful cop-out?"

A second shared: "She will probably get through and then do absolutely f all in the final chase #TheChase." [sic]

"Omar has got them to 40K and dumb 'Stacey Dooley' soundalike takes the - 10K.....F**K OFF LOVE!!!" another tweeted.

Sadly, bad decision or not, it was Chaser Paul who won the final Chase.
