The Chase viewers notice unfortunate font spacing as player is given very rude name

The Chase 's eagle-eyed viewers could not help but giggle during Thursday's show when they noticed an unfortunate detail about contestant Clint.

Due to the spacing and font on the names underneath each contestant, Clint's name looked like it might be something else.

The episode was an exciting one as the show introduced its brand new chaser, Darragh 'The Menace' Ennis, who was actually beaten by Clint in the first round.

One viewer remarked: "Unfortunate angle on Clints name today #thechase ".

"Lovely contestants on tonight’s #thechase but they could’ve been more careful with Clint’s name," added another.

"Had to double take Clint’s name then! #TheChase," exclaimed a third.

"Watching #thechase, perhaps Clint should’ve gone with his middle name," remarked a fourth.

Clint explained that he was from Cornwall and used to own a newsagent's and post office, but was forced to sell up.

Now, he works as a teacher and said that if he was to win big, he would like to buy his wife the shed that she wants.

Meanwhile, other viewers were distracted as they could not stop pointing out different famous resemblances to Darragh.

Darragh played his very first episode on Thursday (ITV)

He was compared to Kevin Keegan, John Bishop, Micky Flanagan, Nick Grimshaw, Stan Boardman, Fred West, and Rufus Sewell, amongst many others.

One viewer tweeted: "Looks like Fred west #thechase ".

"Looks like Stan Boardman #thechase " wrote another.

A third remarked: " #thechase he looks like Robert Powell..."

"Why does the new chaser look like a mix of both the guys from Step Brothers #thechase," added one more.

Darragh finished the show by eventually beating the contestants and admitted he was "relieved" to have redeemed himself after a slow start.

* The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV
