The Chase viewers left fuming as Bradley Walsh appears to accept a 'wrong answer'

We think it's fair to say that there is a competitive edge to all of us - especially when it comes to a daytime TV quiz shows.

So viewers of The Chase were suitably fuming as host Bradley Walsh appeared to accept a 'wrong answer'.

In Thursday night's (May 9) episode, chaser Shaun 'The Dark Destroyer' Wallace was up against a team of three in the final round who had managed to rack up a £30,000 jackpot.

As contestants Vee, Jimmy and Jo had correctly answered 15 questions in their final chase, their luck almost seemed to be in as Shaun answered two questions incorrectly.

But it wasn't meant to be as he eventually caught them out and nicked back the big prize with 30 seconds to spare.

Did Shaun really get the answer wrong? (ITV)

However, fans of the ITV show were left with questions of their own as they believe that Shaun had technically answered one of the questions wrong.

Bradley asked the chaser: "What type of an appliance is a Dyson V8 Absolute?"

Whilst Shaun quickly replied that it was a hoover, general knowledge fans at home actually pointed out that the 'correct' answer should be vacuum cleaner.

Oh the technicalities.

One unhappy viewer tweeted: "Sorry to be that person but Hoover shouldn't have been accepted there!"

Another commented: "He shouldn't have been allowed 'Hoover'!"

A third argued: "Shaun got the question wrong. Hoover is a brand name, not an appliance, the correct answer was vacuum cleaner."

But maybe this person also has a point: "Aye but everyone calls vacuum cleaners a Hoover these days #TheChase"

Vacuum cleaner or hoover? You decide.
