The Chase viewers furious after contestant's 'fat shaming' swipe at Mark Labbett

The Chase viewers were left furious after a contestant's 'fat shaming' swipe at Mark Labbett.

During the latest instalment of the hit ITV show, contestant Adam admitted to host Bradley Walsh that he wanted to square off against Chaser Paul Sinha because he "gets a few wrong every so often."

Unfortunately for Adam, Mark Labbett was revealed as the Chaser for tonight's episode (October 1), which is when the 21-year-old cheekily took aim at The Beast, the Daily Star reports.

Bradley went on to ask Adam how he felt about playing against The Beast, to which Adam said: "I'd rather take on the Sinnerman that the sugar man."

Mark shot back saying: "Not anymore."

Bradley then stepped in and defended his co-star, as he said: "He's off the sugar now actually"

The Chase viewers were quick to jump on social media to slam Adam's "low blow" jibe.

One wrote on Twitter: "The Sugarman... bit of a low blow that, what is with contestants being arrogant and full of unfunny banter, just be nice and humble! #TheChase."

Another exclaimed: "The Beast is off the sugar, so f*** you, Adam!"

"The sugar man? Sh**e patter mate #TheChase", penned a third.

One viewer enjoyed the moment however, saying: ""Love the Trash Talk", with a laughing face emoji.

Adam did well and made it through to the final chase against The Beast.

When it was fellow contestant Sally's turn, she seemingly took a liking to Mark as she greeted him saying: "Hello handsome".

One The Chase fan added: ""Hello Handsome'' well certainly an upgrade from b****y Sugarman #TheChase."

Sally, Kate and Adam were the three contestant to make it through to the final round, and the trio were playing for £17,000.

The Beast was on top form however, and despite some push backs, he managed to beat the team with just one second to spare.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
